Founded in Kecskemét in 1971 by Ferenc Mikulás, Kecskemétfilm is a historic pillar of Central European animation and home to the renowned Kecskemét Animation Film Festival. The studio has produced hundreds of iconic animated works, including the legendary Hungarian Folk Tales series, A Hat-Trick of Feathers, and the feature film The Treehugger. Kecskemétfilm is celebrated for traditional hand-drawn 2D animation, preservation of cultural folklore, and collaborative European feature co-productions.
